Retired U.S. Army Colonel / UAPTF Officer
U.S. Army / UAP Task Force
Karl Nell is a retired U.S. Army Colonel who served as the Army's representative to the UAP Task Force (UAPTF). He publicly endorsed David Grusch's credibility following Grusch's 2023 disclosure and has made his own carefully worded statements about the significance of the UAP phenomenon.
Nell worked within the UAPTF structure before his retirement, giving him direct institutional knowledge of how UAP intelligence was collected and assessed. His endorsement of Grusch was notable precisely because of this background.
In a statement to The Debrief following Grusch's disclosure, Nell said: "His assertion concerning the existence of a terrestrial arms race occurring sub-rosa over the past eighty years focused on reverse engineering technologies of unknown origin is fundamentally correct." He has also stated publicly that the question of non-human intelligence should be treated as a "narrow-but-not-zero" probability that nonetheless demands serious investigation.
Nell is associated with several working groups focused on UAP research and has been cited in congressional materials as a subject matter expert.

Publicly endorses David Grusch's credibility and assertions following disclosure
A serious figure. Nell publicly stated he found Grusch's credibility to be "beyond reproach" — significant given his own UAPTF background. He has not made independent claims of crash retrieval programs.
